Learning Chinese Mandarin

I am an American wanting to learn Mandarin but most of the universities here are not very good when it comes to learning Chinese. They are very limited in the area of Chinese. I have been thinking about coming to China to learn Chinese but I do not know what is the best place to learn Chinese.  Does anybody have some names of universities that are good for learning the chinese language?
